Gustav Proves Power of Obama's True Mandate

Think about it... when your campaign is based on millions of Americans who are willing to embrace change and work for it, then when a disaster hits and President Obama sends out a call to action. It will be far more effective then the candidate who's campaign is funded by a bunch of "fat cat" rich folks.

Even before the election, Obama is showing that he is by far the most "Presidential" candidate. As McCain goes for the photo op in Mississippi, Obama is readying an army of volunteers to actually do something once the storm has passed.

"Expert" Status?

It appears the Republicans are "dumbing" down, once again, what it means to be an expert.

Apparently, if you are a former sports news caster what-a-be, Miss Alaska runner-up, with only a Bachelor of Science degree in communications-journalism, and you helped your husband fish a bit; you are suddenly an "energy" expert because you live in Alaska. It is like saying I am a "Wheat" expert because I am living in Kansas.

BTW - If my wife just had a baby with special needs, do you like I should go out campaigning 24/7 for the Vice Presidency? That does not sound like good family values to me... putting yourself ahead of your family seems to be the new Republican mantra. First McCain cheats on his first wife, and now he picks a completely inexperienced person for VP who really just LOVES the lime-light.

Here we go again with the Republicans hoping the American people are dumb as rocks and will believe anything they are told.

Short-sighted conservative religious leaders recently asked their parishioners to "pray to God for rain during Obama's speech" at Mile High Stadium.

God has sent a clear message back to them... not one but TWO HURRICANES bearing down on America during the Republican convention.

If you believe in BAD omens... then don't vote Republican, that would be a true disaster.

After Obama delivers one of the most impressive speeches of the campaign, McCain comes out today and gives every woman in America a collective slap in the face!

There are many, many more qualified woman to be vice president. For him to belittle American woman by picking someone with ZERO foreign policy experience, almost NO executive experience and someone who stands for the same conservative mantra that has driven America in the complete wrong direction; is worst then unacceptable.

This is GENDER PANDERING at its finest.

I am not saying that the Governor of the most sparsely populated state in the Union does not have merit. I am just saying, if McCain has a heart attack as president, is she ready to lead. I think not.

There Was Not Always A Middle Class In Kansas

You may not remember an America without a middle class but you do not need to go back too far in history to get to a point where there were only the VERY RICH and the VERY POOR.

Before World War II, it was rich and poor only. There were a few points in time where a middle class started to form but it never took root and grew. Right before the stock market crash of 1929 we came close to having a robust middle class. Most of us who paid attention to our history lessons know that there was no middle class once the soup kitchen lines formed. It was quickly wiped out.

Surprisingly, through the Great Depression, the rich did just fine.

What you need to know, what you must understand... is that the very rich are absolutely OK with turning the clock back and putting the middle class back in the poor house. Those "high paying" manufacturing jobs are being outsourced and Walmart Greeters just don't make that much.

What will happen when both the husband's and wife's pay does not pay the bills anymore? It used to be that a single working spouse could provide for the whole family. We lost that in the 70's. Will your children have to stay at home until their 30 and work to make ends meet. Will you have to sell the house you have mortgaged to the hilt? Will you buy a old car to drive in? What exactly will you give up?

If you like a new car, if you like a nice home of your own, if you like being able to go and buy things freely at the store... you had better pay attention to this presidential election.

Putting John McCain in office. A man that can't even count how many homes he has. A man that has has lived in the lap of luxury since divorcing his first wife to marry his rich mistress. He does not understand what it means to pay 10% more for groceries, or what it means that gas prices are rising and piching the budget to the breaking point.

McCain does not understand you.

It saddens me greatly that my great state of Kansas, according to polls, will blindly vote for McCain. To do so does not represent true Kansas values.

Kansans should not vote for an adulterer.

Kansans should not vote for someone so rich, he does not know the number of homes his family owns.

Kansans should not vote for a man who so easily confuses the facts.

Kansans should not vote for a man that admits to not understanding the economy.

Kansans are humble people who want what is best for America. As the election draws nearer my deepest hope, is that Kansans reach deep into their soul and take a hard look.

A hard look at what type of World we want for our kids. This is not just another election. This election, like no other, could mean the end of the middle class and a rapid decline of our lifestyle. As rapid as the stock market crash in 1929.

Wake up, pay attention and vote smart. It is too important to blindly march to the drum of destruction for the American way of life. 8 more years of ignorant leadership could mean the end of the American Dream.

Anyone comparing and contrasting Obama and McCain at the Saddleback might be surprised by two things:

- Obama's calm and thoughtful response to questions in front of a very tough audience.

+ Humble is what Jesus preached. 

+ Humble is what Obama was as well as respectful of those that disagreed with him.

- McCain's constant interrupting and eagerness to talk and advocate for war.

+ Boisterous and rude... his stories did not tell us anything about his faith.

+ I really know nothing more about his faith or how it will help him lead.

+ I have heard everything McCain said before in some story in a political gathering... stories are not what America needs. We need to re-establish our place in the World.

 + One story that McCain did NOT tell in detail was why his first marriage was "his biggest moral failing"???

In watching McCain, I actually could feel wars starting. I would like to hear others thoughts on this.

McCain's Divorce Was Messy

It turns out that John McCain paying off his first wife, Carol, by paying her medical bills was not enough for Roberta McCain, John's mother.

She apparently sued Carol McCain for loss of personal property including a pair of ear rings, painting and needlepoint screen.

I think since John screwed so many women while married to Carol she deserved to keep those things. I am not sure what the out of court settlement was but Roberta clams to have never sued Carol. Unfortunately for Roberta, her memory is about as good as her son's. Court records show she DID sue her.

The only way you forget suing someone, is if you have sued a lot of people. I wonder how many times the Richie Rich McCain family has been in court?

Just so you know... I am boycotting Amazon.com until you remove the book "Obama Nation" from your "non-fiction" list. It is obvious fiction.

Also, I am a public speaker, trainer and blogger and will tell everyone I know to do the same.

Might not mean a hill of beans to you, but you should do a better job categorizing your books so people can make a good decision.

McCain Supporter Study Revealed

A new study of 2356 McCain supporters has revealed some interesting voter characteristics:

1) 95% of supporters are dumb.
- It is not that they did not go to college, 16% had, they just had major issues with reasoning.
- Of the 95%, fully 74% were aware of their dumb"ness" but "did not care" or wish to be more informed.
- 35% said they say dumb thing on purpose so people will leave them alone.

2) 68% of supporters are technically old as dirt.
- These supporter identify with McCain because he is old as dirt too. Born during the Great Depression, when Hitler was Chancellor of Germany and "Tin Lizzy's" were common place... these voters can relate.
- 100% of these supporters report having uncontrollable gas, but no one seems to care too much.

3) 86% of supporters are "very" white.
- These supporters are not just "white" but consider themselves "very" white.
- Most have family trees going back centuries to western European countries and 57% report being related to Robert E. Lee
- 23% report that uncle Joe is "just very tan", it has nothing to do with owning slaves in the early 1800's.

4) 10% of supporters are filthy rich
- These supporters indicate that the taxes on their 9 homes are way too high.
- 99% think that property taxes used to support schools are just silly since there are good private schools on either coast.
- High fuel and grocery prices? 99% of them did not understand the question. 1% indicated that they donate their socks to charity after they wear them once, so what's the big deal?
- 2 of these supporters specifically said that they choose not to have the helipad installed on their new yachts because of the economic outlook and went for a pair of matching speed boat "dinghies" instead to island hop.

Georgian President Calls Out McCain on False Rhetoric

McCain spouted off a bit early before knowing all the facts and now is being called out for it by the President of Georgia.

Is this the type of leader you want? One that is so eager to go to war? Do we want to fight endless wars? Do you want your children to fight and die for idiot presidents?

MORE... it appears that McCain was bought off by the Georgians. McCain's campaign advisor Randy Scheunemann, was paid almost $1,000,000 and it turns out that McCain's foreign policy gave the Georgians a bit too much confidence to take on Russia.

Hmmm... who do you want leading our foreign policy? Someone that is encouraging a small country to fight a giant military power like Russia? That seems foolish... a lot like going into Iraq.

Plus, who the heck is the President right now? Bush is a pin head but he is the President. McCain should make modest statements but keep his trap shut. Presidential nominees are paid attention to. He is interfering in U.S. foreign policy. That seems very junior varsity to me for a guy that is supposed to be strong with this stuff. Perhaps the hype is just that... HYPE!

I am tired of war and certainly do not want my kids to be fighting McCain's wars. We must stop this guy. Do not elect the angry old man.

Make no mistake, Russia is no "good guy", Putin is pure evil. But what the hell are you doing helping a tiny nation pick a fight when we are bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan? That is just plain stupid and incredibly weak on judgement.

McCain Good at Giving Foreign Companies American Jobs

Being from Kansas I wondered why McCain hates us so much by trying to give the tanker deal to Airbus, a European conglomerate. Luckily a political storm arose around that and McCain's plan was thwarted.

Now we find out that Ohioans are his target. He supported the DHL take over of Airborn Express which will kill over 10,000 jobs in Ohio. McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, was paid over $100,000 to lobby to make that job loss take place.

It is no wonder that McCain recently took time to head south of the border to make more promises to send American jobs to Mexico, Columbia and other south / central American countries.

I think we have found something McCain is really good at here.

Lost in today's news with McCain wanting his wife to show her breasts to and simulate oral sex to a bunch of bikers in South Dakota is a very serious matter.

President Bush may have finally crossed a line that can't be ignored.

It turns out that the White House may have ordered the CIA to fabricate documents to influence the America public to support the war in Iraq.

This is different then every other "poor judgment" argument at why Bush can plead ignorance or plausible deniability.

This is the kind of thing that a President must go to jail for. If you are liberal but especially, a conservative, you know that this goes against everything that we stand for as Americans. It goes against who we are at the core. I goes against what we fought the Revolution for.

If any of this is even close to being proved, it may be time to forget having Bush around until January. We should put him in jail now.

For many years as a child I spent weekends on my Dad's small sailboat at the Swan Yacht Club that just happens to be located in the shadow of the Fermi Two cooling towers.

Lake Erie could be a beautiful place if you could just imagine that a nuclear power facility was not right across the shallow creek.

Experts Positive on Obama Energy Plan

Fadel Gheit, a senior energy analyst for Oppenheimer, projected a more dramatic reduction in oil prices, noting that Obama's SPR plan could "cut prices in half."

Gheit said that prior releases from the SPR during the administrations of former Presidents Bush and Clinton during the 1990s were "knock-out punches" that caused oil prices to drop dramatically. He said that to maximize the impact, which is primarily psychological, Obama should not provide hard numbers to make it harder for speculators to project future prices.

"We should not have a limit on what we will release," said Gheit. "That is the best way to keep speculators off balance."

This guy is a piece of work. After changing more positions than I have fingers, he has changed his campaign to "fear monger" mode.

It is laughable to think that a candidate for highest office in the land is putting out ads with Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

We have serious issues facing us and the McCain camp is acting like a bunch of angry bastards.

My guess is that this will work for a little while and people will think it comical... but after Obama has a chance to counter the idiocy of the McCain camp... people will realize that we need a serious president. Not an angry old man who will say anything to win.
